Fat Washed Cocktail: Open Sesame
A restaurant remake you’ll want to make for your next dinner party.
Ingredients:
for sesame gin, makes 12 oz
12 oz gin
1/2 tbsp sesame oil
jar with lid
fine mesh sieve
coffee filter
for cocktail, makes 1 (multiply as needed for a batch!)
3/4 oz simple syrup
1 oz lemon juice
1 oz cucumber juice (blend cucumbers with a splash of water, then strain)
2 oz sesame gin
Step 1
Add gin and sesame oil to a jar and shake for about 30 seconds
Step 2
Set the jar on the counter until the oil has risen to the top and separated from the gin, a few hours
Step 3
Once the oil has separated, place the jar in the freezer for a few hours until the oil has solidified
Step 4
Remove the jar from the freezer and pour into a medium bowl with a fine mesh sieve and coffee filter on top. Let it strain completely, then your gin is ready to use!
Step 5
Add all the cocktail ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a coupe or martini glass and garnish with a cucumber ribbon!
