Gourmet Gameday: Pulled Pork Puffs with Homemade Ranch

Because game day deserves more than chips and dip.

Ingredients

PULLED PORK PUFFS

  • 1 package puff pastry, defrosted

  • ¾ pound pulled pork (we used store-bought, not in bbq sauce)

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce (we love Kinders)

  • 1¼ cups cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

  • 1 stalk of green onion, for topping

HOMEMADE RANCH

  • ¾ cup parts buttermilk

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • ¼ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • ½ lemon, juiced and zested

  • ½ teaspoon freshly cracked white pepper

  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste, adjust as needed)

  • 1 bundle fresh dill, finely chopped (about 2 tbsp)

  • 1 bundle fresh Italian parsley, finely chopped (about 2 tbsp)

  • 1 bundle fresh chives, finely chopped (about 2 tbsp)

Step 1

Make the ranch (so it has time for the flavors to meld): add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix until combined. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve!

Hauste hint: Make this a few days before your party!

Step 2

Add pulled pork to a medium mixing bowl then mix with bbq sauce. Set aside.

Step 3

Grate cheddar cheese and set aside.

Step 4

On a lightly floured surface, lay out one sheet of puff pastry and cut into 9 equal squares.

Step 5

Add about 2 tbsp of shredded cheddar cheese to each square, followed by a scoop of (about 1 tbsp, we used a cookie scoop) pulled pork. Fold the corners into the center and press to secure. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Step 6

Bake at 400ºF for 18-20 minutes, until golden brown. Sprinkle with chopped green onions after they are removed from the oven. Serve warm or at room temperature with homemade ranch dressing& enjoy!
