Heavy Apps: Pear & Pecan Brie Bites

Snacks for dinner? We call those Heavy Apps.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pear

  • Honey

  • Candied pecans

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed

  • 1 8-ounce wheel of brie

Step 1

Cut the Brie cheese into 24 pieces

Step 2

Slice the pear into ¼-inch slices, and then cut each slice in half. Cut the pointed tips off the pear slices so they do not pierce through the puff pastry

Step 3

Roll the puff pastry out into a 12-inch square and then cut the large square into twelve 3-inch squares

Step 4

Now, assemble! Brush a little egg wash around all four edges of each puff pastry square. Place a piece of Brie in the puff pastry and then top it with a piece of the pear, some candied pecans, and a drizzle of honey. Wrap the puff pastry up around the filling by pulling up each side of the pastry and bringing it all together in the center. Pinch the dough together to seal shut. Brush the bites with more egg wash

Step 5

Spray or brush the bottom of the basket with a little oil and air-fry the bites in batches for 8 to 10 minutes

*Let cool for a few minutes before serving

Notes
